We’ve been big fans of what the folks at Belgard Hardscapes do for a while now. Aside from their fantastic selection of pavers, they also create some gorgeous wall products too! One of our favorites is the Brookshire Wall stone. Why?
- Installation. Working with a precast concrete block in specific sizes makes it quick and easy to install in a variety of patterns – like the one pictured above in a landscape in New Paltz, NY.
- Aesthetics. We love the split face since it matches that country home look we see a lot in this area. For our projects, we like the tumbled finished too, since it looks a little more natural, but it does come with a sharper, beveled edge. It also comes in a pretty wide array of solid and mixed colors, so it’s sure to match your pallet.
- Multiple Applications. Brookshire works great as a free-standing wall for sitting or squaring off a patio. It’s also approved for use as a retaining wall up to 6′! Pretty great.
Where We’ve Used It
We seemed to be using this product left and right last year, but here are two of our favorite projects we’ve built with the Belgard Brookshire Wall.
Basement Entry
We removed a failing cinderblock entry when we installed the landscape drainage for this home in Gardiner. A year later, we installed this new basement entry featuring steps and pavers too! The Brookshire was the perfect fit in terms of scale and style. We even used it for a wing wall off to the side, showing off how you can use this product for curves too!
Backyard Facelift
We used the Brookshire extensively for this New Paltz backyard. The differing grades in the landscape called for some retaining along either side of the driveway. Our favorite details are the curved wall on the far side of the garage entry, and those perfect corners on either side of the steps to the house. Plus, this wall pairs perfecting with Belgard Landings steps and Urbana pavers.
